MASTER'S OF CHRISTIAN COUNSELING
Christian Counseling: 30 semester
hours
Master’s Practicum: 6 semester hours
Total Semester Hours Required: 36 semester

Admission to the Graduate School of
Counseling requires that students have
earned an undergraduate degree with a major
or minor in a related field, such as
counseling or psychology. Students with
significant counseling experience who wish
to challenge this requirement must receive a
waiver from the Dean of the Counseling
Department and complete a minimum of nine
(9) hours of prerequisite courses in the
Counseling Department as part of this degree
program. The degree in Christian Counseling
does not qualify for Florida state
licensure, however, it does qualify one with
this degree who comes under a religious
organization to operate as a “Christian
Counselor” under Florida Statutes Title
XXXII, Chapter 491.014 Exemption. See the
following website:
www.flsenate.gov/statutes. For other
than Florida, check with your state
statutes. |
